How to rejuvenate your BBQ

Woodie's DIY will show you how to rejuvenate your BBQ. This simple task can protect and restore your BBQ to as good as new.

How to do it

Step 1

For this job use Rust-Oleum BBQ & Stove Paint. It has a tough protective enamel that renews and protects surfaces subject to heat up to 650° C.

Step 2

Move your BBQ out to an open space in the garden on top of a large dust sheet. You may want to cover the surrounding area with a few sheets as well to protect them from any spray mist.

Be sure to choose a dry calm day when doing any spray painting.

Step 3

Ensure the surface is free from any loose paint, rust, wax, oil and grease. Remove any loose rust on the BBQ with a wire brush. Wipe clean with a damp sponge.

Step 4

Remove or mask off the wheels, tool basket, shelves, and other items using masking tape.

Step 5

Shake can vigorously for 1 minute after mixing ball begins to rattle, continue to shake regularly during use. Hold can 30cm from surface and spray in a steady back and forth motion, slightly overlapping with each stroke. Apply the spray paint to the entire outer surface of the BBQ. Follow application tips and dry times on the can. Apply several light coats a few minutes apart.
