Sometimes it is nice to freshen up the colour of your plastic patio furniture. This can be done by using a product called ESP – Easy Surface Prep, which makes paint stick to any smooth shiny surface. It provides a powerful grip for any water or oil based paint.
Clean surface thoroughly with warm water and detergent or Sugar Soap. For greasy, waxed or varnished surfaces, scrub thoroughly with a scouring pad using one of these solutions. Rinse surface thoroughly and dry with a clean cloth.
Apply ESP liberally with a clean dry lint free cloth. Wait 2 hours or until surface is dry then paint.
When the surface is dry you can apply an undercoat and gloss. For best results add owatrol oil to both undercoat and gloss as it provides greater adhesion and improved flow ability to the paint. Read instructions to get the correct mix ratio.
Apply the undercoat to the furniture in smooth even strokes and leave to dry.
Finally apply the gloss carefully and evenly to finish the job.
The paint will dry over night, but leave at least a week for it to cure, before using the furniture.
