A door viewer allows visual identification of callers without the need to open the door.
Mark on the door where you would like to place your viewer. Ideally it should be located at the centre of the door at eye level.
Before drilling always ensure that you’re using the appropriate drill bit by checking the instructions on the pack. Drill a hole through where you have marked using the correct size drill bit.
Hold the drill perpendicular to the door and start drilling at a slow speed using a small amount of pressure.
When the tip of the drill bit first emerges, stop the drill and finish the hole by boring from the other side. Use a wedge to keep the opened door steady.
Sand the edges of the hole for a smooth finish.
Unscrew the two parts of the door viewer and insert the lens through the door from the outside.
Insert the barrel from the inside of the door and while holding the lens, screw the barrel until tight to complete the job (use a flat-head screwdriver if necessary).
